Multilingual and Pacific culture aspects and policies

MBS underlines the multi-lingual and cross-cultural aspects and policies of the firm (consultants cover Pacific languages) in all dealings with the Pacific (translation and interpreting) through the associated business Corporate Language Communications.

MBS has exceptional and long term experience in the Pacific in providing assistance in legal and culturally sensitive matters. The firm supports the aspirations and aims of Pacific countries. Michael Bula was in fact the Honorary Consul of Vanuatu in Melbourne from 1993 to 1998, providing him with a unique insight into Pacific affairs.

New Caledonia and French Polynesia

Since 1985, MBS, as a rare French-speaking firm, has maintained a privileged rapport with these French Pacific territories or pays d'outre-mer, as they are now known. Documents can be translated to and from French for Australian and international purposes through its accredited (Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters and French diplomatic and consular missions in Australia) associated agency Traductions Françaises.

In New Caledonia, MBS established an associate legal office in 1992, both handling numerous files, company set ups, litigation, projects and provided local, private international and comparative law advice and documentation (to and from Australia and New Caledonia), which also assists with Wallis and Futuna. A network of other professionals and consultants is at the disposal of clients.

In 2014, the firm signed a collaboration agreement with a firm of lawyers in Papeete and has legal and chartered accountant agents in French Polynesia to provide specific assistance.
